Outfit of the Day

The sun was shining in London today, so out came a dress.

  • Dress: Zara
  • Shoes: Dune
  • Necklace: Vintage

Lime Crime - Airbourne Unicorn

Make-up

Although I used fairly dark eyeshadow colours in my crease, the overall makeup doesn't loose all it's  playfulness, probably because I used my go-to lipstick shade - Liliac! Here's what I used to create the look:

  • Primer: MAC Prep & Prime
  • Foundation: MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 (shade NW10)
  • Concealor: Benefit Boi-ing (02)
  • Powder: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (medium)
  • Bronzer: NARS Laguna
  • Eye brow pencil: MAC's (stud)
  • Eyebrow set: Boots No.7
  • Blusher: MAC Breath of Plum
  • Eye Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Eye Shadow: MAC Crystal, Digit, Scene & Knight Divine.
  • Highlighter: Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat
  • Eye Liner: MAC Smoulder
  • Mascara: MAC Falsh Lashes
  • Lips: Barry M Lip Paint 129 / Lime Crime Airbourne Unicorn (I changed throughout the day)

  2. Cute dress Ms Emmie and lovely pics! I think your dog was trying to muscle in on the shot :-)

Question about primer - do you wear it every day? I tend to wear a face primer for days when I need makeup to last day-night and when I'm so busy I don't have much time to touch up... but it could be a 'must' every day for you?

  4. Hello Style on the Couch! How are you doing over there in NY? Yes, the dog...not what I'd call a good model's accessory! ;)

Primer: I do indeed use primer every time I wear foundation. The reasons are as follows:

I find that as well as pro-longing the 'wear' of my foundation it also does numerous other jobs...

The primer I have and I suppose the function of any decent primer is to make the skin ready for the application of makeup. It smooths out any imperfections(any fine lines/wrinkles etc.)by filling them in thus creating a flat, even canvas on which to begin. You will use less of your foundation as a result and should find that it can do it's job better.

Finally, I like the idea that the primer is a bit of a barrier. Instead of my foundation absorbing directly into my skin, the primer acts as a base with the foundation adhering to the primer rather than blocking my pores!

I hope that helped a bit?!
